Yesterday I drove through the town of Barcelos and I had thought after meeting the walkers for lunch I might drive to the old town of Braga just 20km away.
Having yesterday realized I’m not a pilgrim, today I quickly realized I’m not a tourist either. To explore the old city I would need to be able to walk and of course that is neither recommended nor possible so I continue to inhabit this twilight zone.
And so while the others toiled in soaring temperatures and humidity I was cafe surfing. Jumping ahead to their next stop and waiting to greet them. And such is life as a pilgrim-tourist on the Car-mino!
