Starting last Sunday we are making the long journey home. Up the East coast of Spain, through the heart of France toward Dijon and then West into Germany and home. Tigín is built for comfort not speed so we will break the trip into stages over 4 days. Our total journey will be over 1,850km. We have chosen a series of camping aires for overnight stays along the way. They are easy to access and have basic services but for one night stops they are more than adequate.
On Sunday night having parked in a city centre aire in Girona walked through the old town at sunset, it was atmospheric, the plazas were packed with couples and families, eating ice cream, drinking coffee or having a meal. Girona is yet another town that is going on our ‘come back and spend more time’ list.
Last night we stayed on the banks of the Rhône river, at a place called Aramon, just south of Avignon. Avignon is on my bucket list but as we don’t have the time to do it justice and to really appreciate it, it has been added to our ever growing list. We did take an afternoon stroll along the Rhône and soaked in the last of the warm sunshine and T shirt weather. Today we are headed to Beaune in the middle of France and tomorrow we will be back in bricks and mortar.
I’ll be taking a break from regular blogging schedule until the new year. I may pop in and out as the mood takes me. Thank you for spending this time with me and I look forward to taking you with me on some more exciting adventures in 2024.
Catherine, thanks for bringing us along again. You must feel inspired and ready for the holidays. Your writing has really been amazing on this trip. Some time you’ll have to do Catherine’s “ Best of Spain” blog when it has all settled and you’re looking back. Love to Christof from us. Happy Holidays!
Definitely Tim, that is a very good suggestion…Spain is an absolute joy.
Thank you for sharing your journey with us. I have enjoyed every post, and I must say that although I am not yet a mobile home convert, you have increased my bucket list of places to see. There is much beauty in the world and I never want to take it for granted.
So very true Heidi. I’m glad I have brought some inspiration. I fell in love all over again with Spain.
I have enjoyed your blog of y0ur travels. Have a safe trip home and enjoy the holidays.
Thanks Helen. Happy holidays to you and all the family.
