Again it has been over a month since my last blog so I thought I’d fill you in on what I have been doing for the last few weeks. At the time of my last blog we had just said good bye to family visiting from Germany and the following week we went to Germany ourselves to visit and catch up with friends and celebrate hubbies mother’s Birthday. It was a fun week and the weather was glorious.
The weeks since I came back have been quiet. I’ve been continuing with my plant based lifestyle and have been enjoying learning about the ins and outs of it. I can’t believe it has been almost 6 months now and I can honestly say I have never looked back. My tastebuds have adapted and I love the myriad of new foods I get to enjoy.
Which brings me to this week. While I was perusing my calendar last week I noticed I had absolutely nothing scheduled and the weather forecast was supposed to be great so I decided to arrange a ‘staycation’ but not just any old be at home for a week. I decided I would arrange a wellness week for myself. Initially I thought about booking into a couple of course and then I decided I didn’t want to be indoors in the anticipated good weather and in any case I had all the tools I needed at my fingertips.
I decided my days would consist of some combination of the following activities:
Meditation, using the Headspace app (free trial available)
Yoga (under a shady tree in the garden, either self directed or using YouTube – Yoga with Adriene)
Stretching
Exercise, walking, hiking, biking, I may try to go for a swim yet, but not sure I’m ready to brave the cold water!
Eating well (vegan of course)
Reading, listening to or watching inspiring/motivational material (audiobooks, podcasts, netflix)
Self care, to include things like, d.i.y. mini facials, manicure, pedicure, relaxing baths
Early to bed for restful sleep
It has been bliss, the fantastic weather was been an added bonus and it comes highly recommended.
Way to go, Catherine. Thanks as always for the thoughtful updates!
Well done. I think you are now ready to run some great away days for the selected few! Sounds fantastic. Must find out more about the diet. Much love
