For the past six months or so I have been studying a course in Integrative Nutrition and Health Coaching and though the title might suggest it is ‘all about the food’ it is in fact a lot more than that. We are encouraged to listen to our natural intuitions relating to our personal needs in the areas of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual nourishment.
More recently I have been using Andrea Hayes’s book “My Life Goals Journal” a month by month guide in wellness strategies. This month, on the topic of self care, I have been ‘dared’ to make a date with myself.
It got me thinking how much quality time do I actually spend with myself. With work, family, friends, activities, to dos, should dos, phones and other technological distractions, quality time even with the people closest to us is hard to come by. How many of us put ourselves and our own needs a the end of a long list of other seemingly ‘more important’ activities?
And so I am taking up the challenge and I’m going to plan a date with myself in the coming weeks.
What would your perfect day be if you were planning a date with yourself?
